Jetstar's former IT provider liquidated

Two directors have put their Melbourne company Lincom Solutions into liquidation.

The solutions provider entered administration on 22 March, with Paul Vartelas of BK Taylor & Co appointed administrator. Vartelas was also appointed as the liquidator on 6 May.

Lincom directors Chris Tepaske and David Lampkin called in BK Taylor & Co in response to the actions of the third director, according to the minutes of a creditors meeting that was lodged with ASIC. The document detailed allegations of serious misconduct by the third director.

The third director, who was not named, was removed from office in August 2015.

Lincom ceased trading in February 2016. At the time, it had about 10 staff, all of whom were paid out their entitlements, according to Vartelas.

He said that Lincom had once had 55 staff when it held a contract with prominent airline Jetstar – but that this contract had become a matter of controversy since being terminated in July 2015.

“At some stage, one of their major clients was Jetstar. One of the company’s sub-contractors approached Jetstar and took on the contract. This matter is now a major dispute and may lead to litigation,” he said.

According to the Lincom website, the company had partnerships with Amazon Web Services, DataCore Software, Veeam Software and Silver Peak Systems.

The company’s unsecured debt amounted to $2.3 million. The biggest debts were to a Fijian property developer Midwest Group for $1.4 million and the Australian Taxation Office for $600,000.

Other debts include $123,000 to a deregistetered organisation Hornlimann Tech, $60,000 to Melbourne reseller Think Solutions and $40,000 to Avnet.

The phone number listed on the company website had been disconnected. Lampkin told CRN by email that he would not comment while investigations were underway.
