The Western Parkland City Authority (WPCA) is seeking IT partners to build the telecommunications infrastructure of Western Sydney's Bradfield City Centre.
Touted by the NSW government "as Australia’s first major city to be built in 100 years," Bradfield City Centre will be located close to the future Western Sydney International Airport in the 11,200-hectare Western Sydney Aerotropolis.
The NSW government expects the city to feature 10,000 homes and support 200,000 new jobs across industries including defence, aviation, aerospace and advanced manufacturing.
“We’re seeking world-leaders in the market to help us deliver a high-tech city that is smart, adaptive and future proofed for businesses and residents," WPCA chair Jennifer Westacott said.
“This is a rare opportunity to get the fundamentals of digital capability right for generations to come and set a new benchmark for urban development right here in Western Sydney.”
The WPCA has invited IT partners to submit expressions of interest for five opportunities to deliver digital infrastructure in Bradfield City Centre:
-
Telecommunications pit and pipe asset network: To operate and maintain the network of telecommunications pit and pipe infrastructure being built by the WPCA.
-
Initial fibre network provision: To provide a telecommunications fibre network within the pit and pipe network, as well as own, operate and maintain that fibre.
-
Layer 2/local bitstream service: To provide layer 2 bitstream services to support provision of high-speed broadband services to end users on the fibre network.
-
Communications centre provision: The right to lease, operate and fit out a reserved space for a communications centre and lease the space to other network operators.
-
Multi-function pole network provision: Manage a complete, precinct-wide network of poles, consisting of multi-function poles, and standard council-approved light poles if required, to deliver street lighting and additional commercial services.
The expression of interest closes Wednesday, 24 April 2024 at 2.00 pm.
