David Vidos has been appointed as the first chief executive in the five-year history of the Small-Medium Business Information Technology Professionals (SMBiT).
SMBiT Professionals felt a chief executive was needed to increase the association’s membership and build stronger relationships with its partners.
Vidos is a former SMBiT Professionals president, and has also worked in vendor relations for the association and served as vice-president of its Melbourne chapter.
He is also the founder of NOVA iT Group, a Melbourne firm with eight staff.
SMBiT Professionals said Vidos wants to build a community of IT professionals, provide interaction and learning opportunities, and educate members about industry best practice and the latest technologies.
He believes effective investment in IT can help level the playing field between small business and big business, according to SMBiT Professionals.
Vidos’ 26 years of industry experience also includes stints as technical services manager for OCG Systems, product specialist and trainer for Colorbus and lead support engineer for HiQuest Computer Solutions.
He also previously worked at the Small Business IT Professionals Association.
