IT industry association CompTIA has developed a legal agreement template for its members with its Australian and New Zealand channel community.
The Australia Master Professional Services Legal Agreement was developed as a template for members looking to develop a professional services agreement between two parties.
“The aim of creating legal documents such as these is to provide additional value to members,” Karen Drewitt, CompTIA executive council chair and general manager of Sydney MSP The Missing Link, said.
“With the Australia Master Professional Services Legal Agreement, members can be confident they have a legally verified document to work with without the cost of having to create their own legal agreement.”
CompTIA, or the Computing Technology Industry Association, is a non-profit trade association that issues professional certifications for the IT industry.
Its ANZ channel community touts itself as the voice of the ANZ IT channel, for small-, medium- and enterprise-focused businesses. The leadership team includes a number of channel executives from various resellers, distributors and vendors.
“CompTIA engaged a local solicitor to make sure the documents comply with Australian law,” Moheb Moses, CompTIA ANZ community director and director of consulting firm Channel Dynamics, said.
“This means that companies can be confident that their legal agreement meets the unique needs of IT companies in Australia.”
CompTIA previously produced the Managed Services Agreement and the Quick Start Guide to Building a Managed Services Sales Team templates in Australia.
The group said there are plans to roll out two more templates in the coming months, a Co-operation Agreement and a Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement.
