Microsoft partner nSynergy is working with the Tasmanian government to develop an emergency services website called AlerTAS.
AlterTas will display emergencies in Tasmania – such as national disasters, public health issues, biosecurity, terrorist threats and energy emergencies – in one portal that can be accessed on a range of devices.
The portal will be hosted on TasmaNet's local cloud platform and will make use of nSynergy's LiveTiles interface.
Tasmanian Premier Lara Giddings said: "This innovative website will give the community greater access to emergency information from across government by aggregating social media, geo-spatial and specific incident pages in one place."
AlterTAS is one of the first platforms to use nSynergy's LiveTiles interface. The interface is a browser-based design tool for SharePoint that supports modern UI design, out-of-the-box integration with external platforms and mobile design.
Microsoft state manager Michael Bennett said the LiveTile interface was perfectly suited to the AlerTas portal.
"We recognised early on that the LiveTiles interface proposed by nSynergy was a perfect fit for the project and are proud to have nSynergy as our strategic technology partner."
LiveTiles is being officially launched nu nSynergy with synchronised launch events taking place in Melbourne and New York on 4 October 2013. The company has been a Microsoft SharePoint partner since 2004 and was recently named Microsoft Australia Collaboration & Content Partner of the Year.
