JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israeli telecommunications equipment maker ECI Telecom said on Monday it opened a new research and development centre in India in an effort to reduce the time to market of new products.
ECI said in a statement that the R&D site would focus on ECI's broadband access lines to develop next generation products and expedite the penetration of new products to the region.
It would also focus on ECI's optical networking products.
"The new centre is a key to expanding ECI's research and development capabilities as well as its strong capabilities in the region," ECI said.
The new R&D centre in India joins others in the US, Israel and China.
