We’ve seen, it has to be said, a fair deal of speculation about the iPhone 5 (if you don’t believe us, take a look here). But as we edge closer to the Apple launch that promises to cure our fevered rumouring, more clues are bound to emerge from the rabble of accessories and add-ons being prepped by third-party manufacturers.
iPhone 5 rumour recap: what we know so far
This photo was taken by a phone shop employee who’d just taken delivery of the first batch of silicon cases for the iPhone 5. It doesn’t give us much to go on, other than that screen size bump we’ve been expecting (the lowest odds currently being on a hi-res 4in Retina Display).
As you can see in the picture below, the case for the iPhone 5 dwarfs the iPhone 4 on the right.
Presuming this photo is authentic, Apple clearly thinks size matters.
We’ve asked for more pictures in a bid to see what else we can garner from the case’s form and – of course – to allay any suspicions that this is simply a Galaxy S II case. Our source says the case design suggests the iPhone 5's back will be arched in a manner reminiscent of Sony Ericsson’s Xperia Arc.
We may be on the cusp of confirming that and other details about the iPhone 5’s build shortly. Check back soon.
