Iomega signs Express Online

Iomega Australia has signed Express Online to distribute its entire range of storage hardware to resellers.

Scott Dillon, manager at Iomega Australia and New Zealand, said in a statement that Express Online was expected to help the vendor reach a wider range of resellers.
 
SMBs were a particular focus for Iomega, Dillon said.

Alison McQuarrie, general manager at Express Online, said in a statement that the three-year-old online distributor focused on the "largest segment of IT resellers", those that served SMBs.

"Approximately 30 percent of our resellers are located in regional areas," she said.

McQuarrie claimed that regional areas had been "overlooked, under-serviced and disadvantaged" by most Australian IT product distributors.

Express Online wanted to be an "online one-stop shop" for resellers that weren't getting "the service they deserve" from large distributors.

The company had several thousand resellers across Australia and wanted to sign more vendors in coming months, McQuarrie said.
 
Iomega's Dillon said Iomega had an "increasingly strong" presence in small business and home networking.

“There is an unmistakable trend within the SMB and SOHO markets towards networking technologies,” Dillon said.

The internet, multimedia file sharing and security were driving networking in smaller companies, he said.

"It will be the smaller resellers -- those who are prepared to work in the SMB and SOHO markets --who will be among this country’s most valuable IT service providers," Dillon claimed.

Express Online also works with Altec Lansing, APC, Belkin, Brother, Cisco, D-Link, Hitachi, LaCie, Macromedia, Microsoft, MYOB, Netgear, Novell, Peach, Samsung, SanDisk, Symantec, Verbatim, Acer, Adobe, LG and Canon.
