Unified IP business communications provider Interactive Intelligence has formally launched a communications-as-a-service (CaaS) offer in Australia.
The hosted offering was launched in the US 18 months ago and in Europe six months later. Brendan Maree, country manager for Australia and New Zealand at Interactive Intelligence, said the service was available in Australia "informally" for some time.
"We've now decided to formally productise it under the banner of CaaS. We're setting up in data centres in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Singapore to cover the Asia Pacific," Maree said.
Interactive's CaaS includes its entire IP communications software suite and is hosted in "well recognised data centres in Australia".
"We're pretty much offering everything we offer on-premise in the cloud as well," Maree said.
Meanwhile, Interactive has appointed Shane Immelman as application engineer to lead the new service. Based in Sydney, Immelman is responsible for ensuring deployment.
He has 15 years experience in engineering, technical support, logistics, procurement, project management and research.
"We've appointed Shane and a couple of others that are [currently] in the [United] States setting up two data centres. Shane's getting trained in how to set it up to our standards and he'll be setting up the Sydney data centre to our standards," Maree said.
He said reseller partners will take CaaS to end-users and maintain their relationship with customers, including billing.
