Integ broadens Alcatel-Lucent partnership

Alcatel-Lucent has adopted a "new indirect model" to service vertical markets in Australia by signing a partnership with UXC-owned systems integrator Integ.

The verticals being targeted by the partnership include mining, utilities, energy and government, the networking vendor said in a statement.

The partnership "includes IP/MPLS and optical transmission solutions, and combine the capabilities of both partners' end-to-end integration services, tailoring solutions based on project complexity and customer needs," the two companies said.

The partnership extended an earlier relationship that covered only enterprise voice and data products.

"With this partnership, Alcatel-Lucent is adopting a new indirect model to serve these vertical markets in Australia, alongside its direct model and existing relationships," Alcatel-Lucent said.

"Likewise, it is a first for Integ to offer carrier grade networking solutions, building on its proven IT portfolio and integration services, as well as its existing business partnership with Alcatel-Lucent in the enterprise voice and data space."

Integ chief Ian Poole said the partnership was "a great opportunity to broaden our portfolio further and leverage the strong capabilities we have in network integration into the communications networking area - both with existing and new customers.

"We have an extremely successful existing partnership in the enterprise voice and data space, so extending into the carrier grade networking space is a logical next step to make together, with the aim of growing our combined market reach," he said.
