inTechnology to launch Absolute Software reseller program

It will introduce a value-added reseller program into the Australian market and use its own network of channel partners to resell Absolute's Computrace solutions alongside its existing security portfolios.

Absolute has also partnered with Dell, Fujitsu, Gamma Tech, Gateway, GD Itronix, HP, Lenovo, Motion Computing, Panasonic and Toshiba to add an extra level of security, persistence and support for the Computrace agent.

Embedding the Computrace agent into the BIOS allows customers to survive operating system re-installations, hard drive reformats and hard drive replacements.

"The mobile computer management and protection products by Absolute are an ideal complement to our existing VAR product portfolio," said Mark Winter, national director of sales and marketing at inTechnology.

"Because we have traditionally focused on security and management, Absolute products offer us the ability to deliver additional value to our channel partners and their customers."

Winters added that for IT asset management and data security personnel, the job of managing and securing mobile devices is becoming ever more complex and expensive.

He said computer populations now include desktops, laptops, Smartphones, Blackberrys, tablets and Netbooks - often of different ages from a variety of manufacturers.

"Our goal is to provide visibility and security regardless of form factor or computer brand," he said.

"We also feel that in today's economic environment, organisations need this to be delivered as a simple managed service."

How Computrace Solutions Work

When a computer equipped with Computrace is reported stolen, Computrace sends a silent signal over the Internet to the Absolute Monitoring Centre, allowing the Absolute Theft Recovery Team to forensically mine the computer using a variety of procedures including key captures, registry scanning, file scanning, geolocation, and other investigative techniques to determine who has the computer and how it is being used .

Absolute then works with local law enforcement to help recover the computer.
