The value-add distributor (VAD) will carry Xirrus' complete family of Wi-Fi products, including the Wi-Fi Arrays, Management System, Defense Module and Power over Gigabit Ethernet, and accessories.
inTechnology is now looking to recruit channel partners focusing on the educational sector to take advantage of the funding available under the Digital Education Revolution (DER) and partners working with local and state governments and the healthcare industry.
It will be offering bundles of the Xirrus Arrays along with Ekahau’s wireless site survey software and will provide partners with Wi-Fi site survey training and education in each state in Q1 2009.
According to Mark Winter, director of sales and marketing for inTechnology Distribution, its reseller partners have a proven track record within the wireless market.
“As the technology and standards for wireless continue to change, develop and demonstrate their robustness, it's important for us to remain ahead of the industry representing leading vendors as Xirrus, he said.
“Xirrus also falls in line with our Green IT focus requiring 75 percent fewer APs, 75 percent fewer cable runs and 75 percent fewer wired switch ports.
“Overall Xirrus uses about 30 percent less power than the traditional wireless infrastructure,” he added.
Winter also claims that with most states looking to deploy laptops under the DER, and with wireless being the obvious network platform for these laptops, Xirrus will be able to supply the antenna system, Wi-Fi controller, firewall and Wi-Fi threat sensor.
"It's rewarding to have attracted another high-calibre distribution partner supporting our channel program," said Tony De La Rosa, regional director of sales for Xirrus.
"With inTechnology Distribution’s and our in-country team, focus on providing innovative technology solutions is indicative of the channel partners we are focused on and, coupled with the advantages delivered by the Wi-Fi Array, will fuel the market momentum rapidly building in Wi-Fi," he added.
inTechnology Distribution focuses on three areas: security, management and control and supplies through accredited resellers and channel partners through its inTechnology Channel Partner (i-CAP) Program.
