Ingram Micro announces new vice president and managing director A/NZ
Freeland (pictured), spent the last three years as vice president and managing director of the Australian operation.

Jay Miley is now Ingram Micro’s new vice president and managing director, A/NZ.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with Tech Pacific and Ingram Micro representing the company all over the APAC region as regional CFO and Australian MD,” said Freeland.

“I’ve been involved in extensive mergers and acquisitions and financing activity and worked within a great regional team to grow Ingram Micro’s business to a position of clear industry leadership.

“I will miss my current local team the most. They are a talented and committed group of people who work tirelessly to promote the success of our customer and vendor partners.

"I am happy to leave Ingram Micro Australia in such good shape,” he added.

Miley is originally from the US and has more than 14 years experience at Ingram Micro across a range of senior roles.

Since January 2007, he was the managing director of Ingram Micro New Zealand where he led ‘innovative change and improvements’ across the business.

“Our customers require Ingram Micro to be a true strategic partner, one who understands their business and provides a value added infrastructure they can leverage to assist growth,” said Miley.

“We need to continually focus our efforts on increasing the value we provide to both resellers and vendors alike,” he added.

Miley holds a bachelor's degree in business economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara and an MBA from the University of Southern California.

Gary Bigwood, who is currently the general manager for the volume business in New Zealand, has been promoted to lead the New Zealand business, reporting to Miley.
