Ingram celebrates three decades

Ingram Micro entered the Australian market with its acquisition of Electronic Resources and ITG in 1999 and then strengthened its position with the purchase of Tech Pacific in 2004.

According to Ingram, over the last five years the company has continued to build upon these foundations to become Australia's largest distributor of technology products.

Jay Miley, vice president & managing director for Ingram Micro Australia and New Zealand, currently in the US, said a huge number of individuals and companies have contributed to the success of Ingram Micro in Australia.

"The ongoing support of our vendors and resellers has been critical in allowing us to evolve as an organisation. We remain committed to adding value every time we interact with a customer and to further develop profitable growth opportunities for all our partners," Miley said.

Two Californian based ex-teachers launched the distributor in 1979. Back then the company was called Micro D.

Ingram Micro has become the global leader in the distribution of IT products with
representation in over 150 countries, the distie claimed.
