Ingram Micro has announced an agreement to distribute EMC's Data Domain de-duplication product line, just weeks after it added IBM's Tivoli Storage Manager to its catalogue.
Ingram Micro's Enterprise Technology Group general manager David Lenz said Ingram expects storage to be a strong growth area for the distributor.
"We're bullish about our potential to strongly grow this market for EMC and indeed for our enterprise storage vendors generally.
EMC acquired Data Domain last year after a bidding war with NetApp. The Data Domain portfolio delivers de-duplication storage for disk backup, archiving and disaster recovery.
The technical and pre-sales teams have been undergoing intensive training in Data Domain and Ingram has added staff to the group at multiple levels, "from Technical CSR's [customer sales representatives] to Solutions Architects," Lenz said.
Data Domain products are also distributed by Westcon.
