The Missing Link has signed an agreement to be acquired by global technology consulting giant Infosys, for a consideration including earn-outs amounting up to AU$98 million.

The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of The Missing Link's 2025 financial year.

In a statutory filing in the US, Infosys reported that the potential consideration amounting up to AU$98 million excluded management incentives and retention bonus, subject to customary closing adjustments.

It will integrate The Missing Link's cybersecurity, IT and AI-powered automation capabilities into its "global ecosystem".

However The Missing Link will continue to operate under its existing leadership team and with its existing team.

Founder and CEO of The Missing Link, Alex Gambotto, told techpartner.news that the Infosys-The Missing Link deal was an “acquisition of acceleration”. He also stated in an article on the company's website that The Missing Link’s values, culture and service promise would remain.

Established in 1997, The Missing Link has grown to become one of Australia's most awarded cybersecurity and IT solutions providers, with over 200 staff and relationships with more than 160 vendors.

"I'm incredibly proud of what our team has built over nearly three decades - a company that leads with integrity, innovation and results," Gambotto stated.

The acquisition enables Infosys to deepen its presence in Australia while allowing The Missing Link to scale its technical expertise globally.

The combination will “deepen capabilities across infrastructure, cloud, and AI-powered automation," according to the acquisition announcement.

The deal will enhance The Missing Link’s “ability to deliver global best practices, deeper innovation, and expanded capabilities in hybrid cloud security, compliance, and digital transformation across Australia, New Zealand, and international markets."

The statement called out The Missing Link’s cybersecurity capabilities, including advanced Red and Blue Team operations, 24/7 threat detection and vulnerability research. These will be amplified by Infosys’ global scale and resources.

Infosys EVP and co-head of delivery Satish HC stated: “By combining Infosys Cobalt’s cloud capabilities with The Missing Link’s deep cyber expertise, we’re delivering a new wave of end-to-end security solutions designed to protect and empower modern enterprises.”

"Australia is a strategic market for Infosys and over the years we have established a leadership position with trusted client relationship delivering excellence," stated Andrew Groth, region head for Australia and New Zealand at Infosys.

“We are excited to welcome The Missing Link and its leadership team into the Infosys family."
