The security company has so far signed three resellers across Australia and has another five pending. Pacific region manager John Martens said he wants to sign up more.
"We don't want to be niche, we want broad-based resellers, but more importantly we're looking for passion. The partners we've signed on so far are on fire with ideas and campaigns," said Martens.
Based in Sunnyvale California, Zscaler Zscaler provides end users - from any place and using any device - with an in cloud security services at a monthly fee.
The security services include anti-virus and spyware, phishing, web access, URL filtering, web 2.0 applications bandwidth optimisation and data loss prevention and reporting.
Businesses can set policies around each feature including allowing access to social networking sites at certain times a day or allowing access to sites but blocking uploading capabilities, claimed Martens.
Additionally, he said, reports as intricate as detailing individual internet usage can be compiled in 60 seconds.
"We use a lot of smart technology, the innovation is speed and it's reducing latency at the same time. Policies can be pulled across the globe to different locations, it's all in the cloud," said Martens.
Zscaler uses nodes in data centres around the world; in Australian Zscaler has leveraged Internode data centres. Businesses of all sizes can use the service.
Marten said there will be no distribution partners but reseller partners can expect high margins and rebates are built in.
There are some services that can add value for resellers, he said. "This is not a service led product, it is a service. Resellers can set policies for customers which make good business and adds some value."
Resellers have to undergo a few hours of training to become certified. On April 16 Zscaler will broadcast a webcast in partnership with analysts Forrester to educate partners.
Martens is based in Melbourne.
