IBM Australia’s former Telstra business head Glen Boreham has been appointed as the operation’s managing director and CEO, following the promotion of Philip Bullock to head its Asia-Pacific hardware business.
Bullock will relocate to Shanghai, China to undertake the role of vice president, IBM Systems & Technology Group Asia-Pacific.
Boreham joined IBM in Sydney in 1986 and is currently managing IBM’s business relationship with Telstra, a position he has held since July 2004, IBM said in a statement.
Previously, he spent eight years working in IBM’s Asia and European operations. Assigned to Tokyo in 1994, he held roles in sales operations, business development and finance.
He then returned to Sydney as general manager of IBM’s Travel and Transport business in 1996.
He was assigned to London in 1998, holding various executive roles including managing IBM businesses in the European telecommunications and travel industries, IBM said in a statement.
