HTC goes big with latest Australian launch

HTC has launched the One Max, a 5.9-inch phablet that adds several software and hardware innovations to the existing One repertoire.

Powering the One Max is a quad-core 1.7GHz chipset, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory. It differs to the 4.7-inch One by featuring expandable microSD memory, removable back casing and a finger print reader on the back.

The smartphone has a larger 1920x1080 resolution screen, which equips it with a pixel-per-inch density of 373-pixel density.

HTC's custom Android skin, SenseUI, has had several updates. The front and back camera now work together to incorporate the person taking the photo into the image—similar to the Samsung Galaxy S4.

It inherits the UltraPixel camera from its sibling and adds larger dual speakers.

HTC claim the 3,300 mAh battery will last a full day without needing a charge.

The 4G device will be exclusively available from Telstra as of 26 November.
