HP reseller scoops Kings PC project

The Somerville Group will handle implementation and servicing of 225 HP notebook computers for staff at the elite The King's School in Parramatta and Tudor House Preparatory School located south of Sydney.

The HP systems integrator was confirmed by a spokesman to be the implementation partner on the project.

The project will see a total of 225 HP EliteBook 6930p notebook PCs deployed to teaching and administrative staff at the two elite schools.

In addition, 150 HP docking stations would be deployed in classroom and office areas.

The EliteBooks replaced an undisclosed number of ageing notebooks at the schools.

The schools' ICT director Michael Eggenhuizen said the number one selection critera was to find a product "that meets our high standards".

"Our second criterion is to have a strong, well-built docking station that marries well with our staff notebook PCs," said Eggenhuizen. "

A ‘hot dock' docking device is a must-have in the 21st century classroom."

The HP EliteBook 6930p notebook PC included an Intel Core 2 Duo 3.06GHz processor; 320GB (7200 RPM) HDD; and 14.1" widescreen LCD.

Staff would also get an "HP Executive Leather Case" to protect the computer.

The King's School claims to be the oldest independent school in Australia.
