Bovis previously worked in HP's Enterprise Storage & Servers (ESS) business in the South Pacific. He has been with the company for more than 12 years.
His accomplishments include attaining strong, above-market growth in the South Pacific region, development of the ESS Channel Specialisation Program and investment in the Business Partner Solutions Architect Program.
Bovis will relocate to Singapore with his family to take up the new role, which officially begins this week.
"Our strong customer focus and leadership position for HP servers and storage in Australia and New Zealand has been made possible through the efforts of a strong team at HP and our network of partners," he said.
"I'm delighted for this opportunity to serve HP across the wider Asia Pacific region, but I think I'm going to miss having a big backyard and mowing the lawn with my ride-on mower."
Bovis will focus on extending HP's leadership in the blade server and virtualisation market across the region, as well as driving growth in the x86 business.
He will report in to Tony Parkinson, who heads up the ESS business in Asia Pacific and Japan.
