Hitachi Vantara has appointed Mark Ablett as its senior vice president of global go-to-market strategy.
In his new role, Ablett will be responsible for partnering with Hitachi subsidiary’s customers seeking digital transformation deals.
He will remain based in Singapore, where he has worked since serving as the company’s senior vice-president for Asia-Pacific since 2015.
Prior to joining Hitachi Vantara, Ablett held various executive positions with Juniper Networks and SpectraLink.
Replacing him is Daniel Chong, who was most recently Hitachi Vantara vice president and general manager of mainland China and Taiwan.
Both will report to Hitachi Vantara chief revenue officer Hans-Peter Klaey, who was hired in September.
“Delivering exceptional customer experiences is incredibly important to Hitachi Vantara,” Klaey said.
“Mark and Daniel have done exactly that in their time here. They have a deep understanding of our business and the needs of our customers and partners.”
“Their work will be crucial in helping Hitachi customers unlock the full potential and value of their data.”
Hitachi Vantara was formed as a result of a restructuring within Hitachi, consolidating three of the Japanese conglomerate’s subsidiaries: Hitachi Data Systems storage and data centre infrastructure business, Hitachi Insight Group IoT business and the Pentaho big data business.
Hitachi Vantara was unveiled in September at this year’s Hitachi Next conference in Las Vegas.
