Hitachi Data Systems has boosted its NSW channel support capabilities after appointing former Nortel employee Wendy Watkinson.
The storage vendor has recruited Watkinson as channel manager for NSW. Watkinson will develop and implement partner programs and manage distribution activity across the state.
Watkinson has 10 years of channel and business development experience from telephony vendor Nortel, where she held numerous roles with responsibilities including developing sales strategy, business planning and growing Nortel’s partner ecosystem.
Watkinson told CRN: “I was at Nortel for 10 years and I wanted to look at another technology and Hitachi offered that. While at Nortel I had the opportunity to work in a number of roles including covering the distribution side and working as a channel manager.
“There is huge potential to grow market share here at Hitachi. There is a huge opportunity in the SME channel space, which is an important area for our channel partners,” added Watkinson.
