Hills has hit back at former vendor Milestone Systems for its attempts to wind up the distributor over a $56,000 bill.
Milestone, a video management software vendor, commenced winding-up proceedings against Hills over the debt in January, which is expected to be heard in court later this month.
Hills contends that the proceeds are an abuse of process by Milestone, saying that the dispute has been ongoing for some time and that it stemmed from the integrity of Milestone's former partner program.
“We had hoped that there would be no need to provide comment on this matter given the quantum of the dispute,” said Hills chief executive David Lenz.
“However, disturbingly, a number of speciality media outlets sought to sensationalise the matter in a one-sided fashion when Hills had clearly indicated it considered the matter to be minor and without merit.”
Hills today filed court documents seeking that the wind-up application be dismissed and that Milestone pay for its court costs.
The distributor exited its partnership with Milestone in late 2016.
