Haley to become the next Oracle business unit
Oracle said in a statement that it will purchase Haley’s parent company, RuleBurst, for an undisclosed sum.

The giant expects it will combine Haley’s software with its ERP and Siebel CRM applications.

Haley’s software specifically will be used as a case management application to help organisations drive eligibility determinations of citizen benefits.

The result will be ‘the first packaged software solution for social services agencies’, Oracle said.

Haley management and employees are expected to join Oracle to form a global business unit focused on enterprise policy automation solutions across multiple industries.

Haley’s CEO Dominic O’Hanlon is expected to lead the business unit as Senior Vice President and General Manager.

The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of calendar 2009, subject to stockholder and governmental approvals.

Until the deal closes, each company will continue to operate independently, Oracle said.

Haley's customers in Australia include a number of government agencies , such as Centrelink.
