The new headquarters, currently in the ‘under-construction’ Workplace6 in Pyrmont and will be a campus-style,work environment for Australian "Googlers". Workplace6 is NSW's first 6 Star Green Star building, going above and beyond green office standards for Australia.
Karim Temsamani, General Manager - Google Australia & New Zealand said the building was already well known for its innovative office culture, from free gourmet cafes to 20 percent time for engineers.
"Moving to a new Australian headquarters is an exciting milestone for Google. We've grown rapidly over the past few years and we want to continue to increase our investment in our Australian employees, users and partners," he said.
Google has invested substantially in its local engineering team in Sydney, which works on Google's popular global products, claimed Temsamani.
“Google also has a significant Australian sales team, to assist local businesses to connect with consumers through advertising programs such as Google AdWords and collaboration products such as Google Apps,” he said.
