Google Cloud has partnered with Rackspace to become its first managed services partner for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in Australia and New Zealand.
The managed cloud company will start offering managed services for Google Cloud Platform in the region as part of its global partnership announced earlier this year.
GCP customers will gain access to Rackspace’s cloud architecture support, onboarding, data migration expertise, as well as ongoing operational support for customers.
They will also gain access to the company’s customer reliability engineering program and full managed security services for GCP.
“The strategic partnership with Google Cloud provides the Australian and New Zealand market with an incredible cloud technology platform, giving them more choice than ever before,” Rackspace ANZ general manager Darryn McCoskery said.
“We’re focused on helping organisations de-risk their digital and cloud transformation journeys by being trusted advisors. We are taking the cloud transformation burden off their hands, using our deep cloud expertise – and now GCP’s unique capabilities - to help businesses focus on driving business growth and efficiencies.”
Vocational online education provider Open Colleges will be one of the first customers of the combined offering, which it said would support its marketing goals, expansion across new geographies and markets and the ability to deliver new types of courses.
“With more competition than ever before in the online education space, student experience, choice and the swift delivery of new digital offerings and features have become as important as the actual courses,” Open Colleges head of product and technology Brett Rule said.
