Gippsland Water (GW) is seeking an IT partner to develop a customer app.
GW is a statutory authority that provides clean drinking water and wastewater services to over 70,000 households and businesses in Victoria's central Gippsland region.
With a service area covering approximately 5,000 square kilometres, the organisation operates a $1.55 billion infrastructure network which includes more than 2,200 km of water mains, 15 water treatment plants, over 1,800 km of sewer mains and 14 wastewater treatment plants.
In an expression of interest (EOI) published on 29 January 2024, GW said it is seeking to identify an IT partner that can deliver an app that allows its customers to manage their bill, monitor water usage and access customer service options.
Partners are invited to detail their experience delivering similar projects, their proposed delivery methodology, implementation timeframe, as well as projected app development and ongoing maintenance costs.
GW also aims to understand the software maintenance support and technical support options partners can provide, as well as the delivery method and location of product training.
To deliver the customer app and protect customer data, GW has been highly recommended to use middleware software rather than direct integration via API with IPS.
After evaluating all EOI responses, GW may invite further offers from selected invitees, conduct a subsequent procurement process or enter into pre-contractual negotiations with one or more invitees.
The EOI will close on 19 February 2024.
