Genetec's Security Centre SaaS will now be hosted in Australia on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, the security solutions provider said.
This is in response to growing demand for sovereign data hosting, robust cybersecurity, and flexible cloud options in the region, Genetec said.
Security Centre SaaS, a scalable software as a service offering, unifies various security capabilities including access control, video management, and intrusion monitoring.
Built with a focus on cybersecurity and privacy, the solution will now be accessible to public and private sector organisations throughout Australia and nearby regions.
"Australia is a forward-thinking nation that recognises the benefits of adopting cloud solutions," Leon Langlais, chief product officer for Asia-Pacific at Genetec, said.
"Establishing a data centre in this location provides our clients with the confidence that their physical security systems are managed locally," Langlais added.
"By leveraging the latest in enterprise-ready generative AI and cloud technology, we aim to solve customers' most fundamental security challenges, enhancing the scalability, efficiency, and intelligence of security operations across various industries," Langlais said.
By hosting the service on Azure, Genetec aims to provide fast, low-latency access while ensuring data sovereignty protocols are met.
Australia joins the United States, Canada, and the Netherlands as one of four countries where Genetec has launched a data centre for Security Centre SaaS.
"With Microsoft's strong stance on cybersecurity as well as the IRAP Assessment and cloud flexibility, Genetec can deliver enterprise-grade physical security as a service in Australia," Natasha Clohessy, director of partner development at Microsoft Australia said.
This announcement builds on a long-standing relationship between Genetec and Microsoft, spanning over 20 years.
Genetec has maintained the highest level of partnership with Microsoft as a Gold Partner for more than a decade.
The Security Centre SaaS platform offers organisations the flexibility to run workloads at the edge or on managed appliances.
Its open architecture allows for integration with various devices, cameras, and access control systems, while legacy devices can be connected using a Genetec Cloudlink appliance.
