Telecom NZ-owned consulting firm Gen-i has continued the shake-out of its Australian businesses with the sale of the local arm of subsidiary Davanti Consulting to The Customer Experience Company.
Davanti is a Salesforce.com implementation specialist. It will license the overall Davanti intellectual property from Davanti Consulting NZ, and will continue to work with Davanti NZ on customer solutions.
The Australian arm of Gen-I has been beset with rumours it is departing the domestic market after it axed local head-count by one third earlier this year. This left a bare-bones operation of sixty people in the Australian office.
However these rumours have been discounted by the company, which has said the restructure is an effort to refocus purely on trans-Tasman business.
The company has since reiterated this stance, with Gen-i general manager Paul O’Donohoe saying in a statement: “Earlier this year we announced we were making significant changes to our Australian business, to refocus on clients with specific trans-Tasman ICT services requirements. The divestment of Davanti is another key step in implementing this strategy as we exit activities which fall outside our refined business focus.”
A Gen-i representative told CRN the company remains focused on its trans-Tasman operations. However they declined to provide the names of any clients.
