Furniture retailer buys T-suite seats

Telstra will provide hosted Microsoft systems to the furniture maker behind retail brands Freedom Furniture and Snooze. Microsoft partner HubOne will manage the migration to BPOS.

The deal with Steinhoff Asia Pacific covers 1050 seats, although only 400 will have access to the full Microsoft Business Productivity Online Suite that has Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Office Communications Online and Office Live Meeting.

About 600 users - mostly shop staff - will get the budget version of BPOS known as "deskless worker".

Licences for deskless worker instances were much less than the cost of a full licence - somewhere in the range of $3 to $5 a user a month.

It was expected to be completed by May.
