Fujitsu has launched four new models in the Fujistsu Storage Eternus DX series – the DX100 S3, DX200 S3, DX500 S3, and DX600 S3. They have also updated their Fujitsu Storage Eternus SF 16 storage management software.
The new products are available for sale immediately in Australia.
The new models are unified disk storage systems that are designed to support simpler storage management of fully combined SAN and NAS without the use of special extra cost hardware such as NAS heads. The new models, according to Fujitsu, offer a 5x performance boost over previous models.
The new models feature a pluggable architecture and support unified management of diverse data types.
In combination with Eternus SF 16 management software, internal storage resources can be automatically allocated according to business priority, freeing system administrators from complex storage-management tasks.
The Eternus DX500 S3 and DX600 S3 support large-capacity flash-based cache with built-in controllers. When expanding operations and seeking higher performance, the typical response was to add disk drives and review the data layout. These needs can be met simply by adding flash-based cache to the controller unit at little cost and minimum installed space.
