HP has appointed premier business partner Frontline System’s managing director Steve Murphy as the first president of the HP Enterprise Partner Advisory Council, Asia Pacific and
The council was comprised of HP management and 18 partners selected by HP from the region.
The council planned to meet four times a year, twice in person and twice over video conferencing. The first was planned for December and was focused on developing, sharing and implementing best practices for HP's partners.
Kwang Leng Seah, director of channel marketing for HP Enterprise Business APJ, said the council was focused on enterprise resellers.
"We have been running regional partner councils in the past few years - what we used to call the partner advisory board. In the new year we are creating a separate bot which we are calling the enterprise advisory council.
"We used to have a much bigger council that covered all of HP and was focused around the volume and value business but moving ahead we want to make sure we put the right focus especially around the enterprise business."
The existing councils had been split up, he said.
Steve Murphy said he was committed to bringing together the collective insights of the partner community.
“I am confident that our market knowledge and talents as an organisation will help feed positively into HP’s channel strategy and deliver the outcomes that the Council has set out to achieve,” he said.
