US-headquartered software company Tibco has appointed Daniel Churches as the regional vice president for Australia and New Zealand.
Churches will be based in Sydney and be responsible for leading sales, strategic marketing and business operations in the region.
He has 25 years of experience in business development, consulting and sales management. Churches was most recently IBM's big data analytics sales manager.
Churches was NTT Australia's NSW sales manager for two years, leaving in 2005 to join IBM as government and enterprise client executive. This was his first time with the vendor, before joining Verizon Business in 2011 as global account director FSI.
In 2013, he was named Verizon Enterprise Solutions' managing client partner for global enterprise sales in Australia and New Zealand.
In 2015 he returned to IBM, where he remained until joining Tibco.
Erich Gerber, Tibco's general manager of Asia Pacific and Japan, welcomed Churches to the role.
"Daniel’s extensive experience in working with partners and customers, coupled with his depth of sales leadership in driving success in Australia and New Zealand, will be a key asset to Tibco in helping our customers achieve a competitive advantage in digital transformation," he said.
Churches replaces Stuart Rees, who left the company in May to join Datameer.
