Former DXC vice president Stephen Kowal has joined technology services conglomerate FTS Group as its new chief executive.

Kowal worked for CSC for more than ten years, joining the company in 2006 as CIO and director of business excellence. In 2015, he took on the general manager role where he was responsible for leading the company's push into the financial services sector and growing its footprint in Asia, Japan, the US and UK.

When CSC merged with HPE's services division in 2017, he was appointed as vice president of the newly formed DXC Technology, charged with responsibility for the Australian and New Zealand business' revenue, business development and growth. Prior to that, he also worked at BHP Billiton for six years in a variety of roles including CIO.

“Through our combined skills and experience, FTS Group has a great opportunity to successfully partner and work collaboratively with both Australian private and public sector organisations on the delivery of their ongoing digital transformation journeys," Kowal said.

"I’m very much looking forward to strengthening our customer engagements and leading FTS Group through its next exciting phase of growth and development.”

FTS Group is a federated group of technology services businesses that specialise in their own areas of expertise. It includes Anatas, Cubic Consulting, FTS Data & AI, FTS Resourcing, Kobold, SME Gateway and Veritec.

Kowal replaces former boss Stephen Keys, who left in July last year for enterprise software vendor IFS to lead its APAC, Middle East and African business.
