The Federal Government has published submissions it received from the public on transparency and accountability measures surrounding its ISP-level filtering proposal.
Communications Minister Stephen Conroy said 174 submissions were received, of which 36 were confidential and one booted out for being "a product endorsement and therefore outside the Department's guidelines."
"The Department will now work with other Government agencies to consider the submissions and examine whether the ideas can be used to enhance the proposed accountability and transparency measures," Conroy said.
Of the more interesting was meika loofs samorzewski - a Tasmanian bronze sculptor (assuming his name hasn't been hijacked) who believes "the broad work of Classification Board could easily be 'wikified' (ie crowdsourced over the internet).
A number of submissions received were bizarre - anonymously submitted and appearing to be of little use to the process.
