First CRN Fast50 2010 entrant revealed

Perth IT reseller Stellar Systems  is the first entrant of this year's CRN Fast50. 

Company owner Stephen Surleff (pictured) was quick off the mark to be part of the channel's No. 1 awards list once again submitting his entry just days after CRN opened the list for entries. 

Last year Stellar systems was named the seventh fastest-growing reseller in the inaugural CRN Fast50.

Surleff said his speed to get on board was driven by last year's success .

"The exposure was good and with the attention has come some constructive [business]," Surleff said.   

"Last year I said the key thing for us was enablement with the distributors and I should say that the distributors have been in touch quite a bit.

"They have shown attention, it has been a real big increase," he said. 

He said Express Data paid him a visit and did some "enablement with us with Cisco phone systems".

"From that came the certification for phones. We put in a bit of effort and we're getting one phone system after another. It has been a real positive for us," he said. 

Surleff said being part of CRN Fast50 last year gave his company the confidence that "we can do better". 

Surleff said the business has grown despite the fact that he thinks the first six months of the year was impacted by the downturn, more than the last six months last year.
