Ethernet and InfiniBand supplier Mellanox has appointed Arrow ECS as a distributor in Australia and New Zealand, as it looks for further growth in its data centre ethernet products via the channel.
Mellanox told CRN it has been emerging as a data centre ethernet product supplier since 2012, having sold enterprise-grade InfiniBand networks for major storage OEMs for more than a decade.
In bolstering its distribution strategy, the vendor found many of its existing partners were working with Arrow,
“We were also attracted to their presales capabilities and their existing alliances with HPE, Netapp and Pure Storage,” Mellanox ANZ regional partner director Jason Finlayson said. “Arrow also has strong relationships with service providers which is a target market for Mellanox.”
Finlayson said the company’s portfolio covered end-to-end solutions, and its range includes cabling, ethernet cards, adapters, switches, networking processors as well as it’s InfiniBand line of data centre-ready cards and systems.
Arrow ECS Australia welcomed the partnership and said Mellanox was at the forefront of data centre networking, particularly with the upcoming release of its 200GB/400GB switches.
“Mellanox covers everything from silicon to software and the main differentiator of their hardware platform is that it is software agnostic, which benefits partners giving them the ability to choose the right platform for the right application," said Nick Verykios, managing director of Arrow ECS Australia and New Zealand.
“Their alignment to storage vendors and the way they leverage their alliance technologies with NetApp, HPE, Nutanix and Pure Storage will create new opportunities for our partners who are looking for integrated solutions.”
Arrow will also offer pre-sales support, marketing and enablement for Mellanox partners.
Mellanox’s other distributor partners are Exclusive Networks and Sapply.
