ES Wigg & Son turns 160

The company claims the title of 21st oldest company in Australia, with Wigg establishing the business in 1849 as a vendor of books and homeopathic medicine. The strongest steps towards its current enterprise came in 1873 when William Davidson joined the company and established a printing section, with the company first purchasing an envelope printing machine in 1901.

Today, ES Wigg & Son comprises over 100 staff spread across four states, with printing and envelope manufacturing operations based in Adelaide and sales offices in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

"When you receive a Foxtel or American Express envelope in the mail, send an overnight Express Post envelope, open a Kodak photo wallet, or receive a Salvation Army donation appeal, you are probably using an innovative product from Wigg & Son," the company proudly claimed in a statement.
