The offering has the benefit of all existing storage systems in one package including price performance as well as simplicity of installation and operation.
EMC claimed that the NS20 was designed to meet the requirements of the reseller channel and enables EMC’s business partners to take advantage of the growth in the storage market, in particular the iSCSI market.
In launching this new offering, EMC is also rolling out a program to enable channel partners to sell, install and implement the systems and has recently trained over 40 implementation engineers across the reseller community.
Clive Gold, product manager at EMC Australia, told CRN: “The NS20 was designed as a channel product, as we have changed the training and support around the product. We have had 45 people through the training process and that will cover 25 to 30 resellers. The NS20 can get from power-up to production in 15 minutes.”
Gold said the reseller training program operates around giving partners basic knowledge concerning storage, and then moves on to other stages such as how to take the product to market and the installation process.
“We will continue the training program as long as we have interest, but we are finding it compelling for partners as the barrier to entry is so low,” added Gold.
