DXN wins $1.2m Solomon Islands cable landing project

ASX-listed prefab modular datacentre specialist DXN has won a A$1.2 million contract from the Solomon Islands Submarine Cable Company (SISCC) for the design, manufacture, delivery, installation and commissioning of a cable landing station (CLS).

The module will incorporate critical power, cooling, fire detection and suppression, standby generation and supporting infrastructure. Project activity will commence immediately upon signing with full delivery of the facility due by April 2027.

The CLS supports the Adamasia Cable System 1 (ACS-1) submarine cable project, an Australian government-financed initiative designed to reinforce security and resilience across the Pacific.

The ACS-1 is a submarine telecommunications cable connecting the Solomon Islands directly to the larger Bulikula regional network, itself a core component of Google's Pacific Connect initiative connecting Guam to Fiji.

Currently under development and scheduled for completion by late 2027, ACS-1 delivers critical backup routing for the Solomon Islands, underpinning the nation's continued development.

Shalini Lagrutta, DXN's managing director, said the contract award reinforces the company's recognised capability in delivering modular Cable Landing Station infrastructure and critical telecommunications facilities throughout Australia and the Pacific.

“At its core, this project carries significant strategic weight. The program is primarily financed by the Australian government and integrates with the Pacific Connect plan further elevating the program's importance within the region's digital infrastructure landscape," she said.

Earlier this month, DXN won a A$1 million contract with the American Samoa Telecommunications Authority for the design, manufacture, delivery and commissioning of a CLS.
