The Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet switching and routing vendor, was founded in 1999 and offers E-Series switch/routers based on a patented architecture that combines distributed hardware and modular software.
Gary Jackson, vice president APAC at Force 10 said the E-series switch/router ensures predictable application performance, increases network availability and reduces operating costs.
“We are going up against a gorilla [Cisco] here, but resellers are saying they want to provide the best possible technology to their customers,’ said Jackson.
For the past three years the vendor has been shipping its products out to North Asian countries Japan, China and South Korea. With Jackson hired last year to set-up shop in India and now Australia.
“It’s the right time we came out here and installation jobs before we even signed with Distribution Central,” he said.
Nick Verykios, marketing director at Distribution Central said the products will be pushed out of its NetWorld Systems division.
“We already have 10 resellers in place ready to go out to existing and new customers with the products and services. Any reseller that wants to sell Force 10 products will need trained and certified technicians,” he said.
Verykios said resellers will dictate the margins because this is a new area and any resellers on board are pioneers in the area.
“With these products we want a much more focused relationship with resellers and to build a market that doesn’t get out of control,” said Verykios.
