The Department of Health and Aged Care has issued a tender for a partner to deliver improved Service Management/Service Integration and Management (SM & SIAM) services.
This is to enhance the department's digital service capabilities across multiple platforms and shared service operations, with the chosen partner to be responsible for leading Health's multi-vendor ICT environment.
A key part of the engagement will involve developing a service establishment plan to evolve SM & SIAM capabilities through a series of capability releases.
The plan will start with a defined baseline capability and include working with the incumbent service partner on an agreed disengagement process.
The department expects the new partner to enhance integration and collaboration across its multi-vendor ICT environment.
This will be achieved through the use of contemporary Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v4 practices and SIAM processes and workflows.
Integration with modern ICT delivery practices is also a priority, including Agile and DevSecOps methodologies.
The partner will need to work within the department's specified Agile delivery framework.
Enhanced monitoring capabilities are another crucial aspect of the engagement, Health said in the tender.
The chosen partner will be expected to improve detection and response to events across all layers of the department's ICT infrastructure, network, and applications.
Health said the timeframe for deliver is between April next year until April 2028, with an opportunity to extend for a maximum term of 10 years.
An industry briefing on the tender will be held on Thursday, October 3, via Microsoft Teams, for interested parties who will need to set out the names of those attending the call by October 1 the latest.
The value of the contract was not disclosed.
