Critical infrastructure vendor Delta Electronics has appointed Synnex as its third Australian distributor, saying the company's "strong logistics platform" should help meet customer demands for fast deliveries.
Synnex will distribute data centre products including UPS, precision cooling and power quality control.
Max Perez, business development manager at Delta Australia & New Zealand, told CRN that Synnex would meet a different market need to its current distributors thanks to Synnex's strength in the SMB space.
Delta also works with Avnet, which was appointed in February 2015 and focuses on the SME and enterprise channel, and Anyware, which was appointed in mid-2015 and supports the online reseller channel, Perez said.
He expained the latest appointment was "a lot to do with branding – to extend our brand within the channel. Branding is very important within the channel.
"Most of all, it is to assist the channel with a very strong logistics platform. You would be aware of how strong Synnex is with its logistics platform with its automated warehouse in New South Wales."
Perez said Australian and New Zealand customers had demanding delivery expectations. "Many times reseller partners and end users want the product delivered same day in the metro area. We get that a lot. With the logistics capability that Synnex has, it will assist both parties, Delta and Synnex, to gain good traction in the industry."
Yu Chen Liao, product director at Synnex Australia, said: “This partnership reinforces and expands Synnex's power solution offering for partners servicing SMBs to large enterprises by providing access to innovative, reliable and efficient power solutions to ensure the continuity of their business."
