Deloitte has recruited a team of eight senior analytic consultants from Data Analytics, bringing specialist knowledge to the existing national practice of 70.
“The use of data analytics or predictive analytics allows organisations to efficiently extract, clean and standardise data from multiple operational and legacy systems, as well as data in the public domain, to deliver real insights to business stakeholders,” said Giam Swiegers, chief executive officer, Deloitte.
According to Swiegers, the majority of organisations in Australia have the data available to resolve their most difficult and long held challenges, but a number of impediments are preventing them from realising their potential.
Deloitte aims to assist businesses navigate data identification and acquisition by implementing operational and market facing solutions.
“The Analytic Insight team will complement Deloitte’s existing practice with their specialist knowledge in marketing, credit risk and information systems, and extensive experience in the telecommunications, finance, banking and retail industries,” said Swiegers.
Data management is a growth area, claimed Anthony Viel, head of the Deloitte Data Analytics Group, as consumer demand compels organisations to become more electronic and convenient. The competitive influx of the global economy has also driven the development of effective and efficient data management, modelling and insight solutions.
“Our Data Analytics team assists organisations to fully leverage the huge investment today in enterprise technology and information systems. Our increasingly sophisticated methodologies can be applied across all industries and issues, whether that be financial crime detection, customer behaviour or supply chain logistics,” said Viel.
The two-year-old boutique firm, Analytic Insight, will gain the most notable benefit of accessing global resources to extend their client service offering.
“One of the key reasons for joining Deloitte’s Data Analytics team is their similar cultural and strategic vision to stay at the forefront of the analytics world, as the new strategic opportunities presented working with some of Australia’s biggest companies,” said de Luca, Analytic Insight founder and managing director.
