Deloitte Australia has continued to build its cloud capability with the team from Australian IBM partner The Lonsdale Group joining the firm.
Six staff will join Deloitte, with The Lonsdale Group founding directors John O’Connor and Frank Kelloway joining as Deloitte Private partners. The Lonsdale Group also uses up to 30 contractors. The integration is effective from 2 February 2015.
This latest move adds midmarket cloud expertise to the growing Deloitte technology portfolio, including relationships with IBM, invoicing and expenses cloud vendor Coupa, and supply management vendor BravoSolutions.
In addition, The Lonsdale Group boasts a high-profile client list including Rio Tinto, Komatsu, Vic Roads, Toll, CGU, HCA Healthcare Australia, RMIT University, Medicare Local and Transfield.
Lonsdale was responsible for Australia’s biggest Coupa implementation this year for mining and energy services group Ausdrill.
The move will "significantly" strengthen Deloitte's cloud advisory services for the mid-market, said Deloitte Private Advisory leader Ben Shields.
Deloitte Australia has been steadily adding to its technology capabilities, including an alliance with Australian social analytics firm Digivizer this month.
In November, the Big Four firm expanded its reseller partnership with Oracle to include the vendor’s applications and middleware. Deloitte Australia also struck a partnership to resell Google Apps and the Google Chrome product suite.
March saw Deloitte announcing a global “bulk buy” reseller deal with SAP. The company also has relationships with NetSuite and Verian.
In 2013, Deloitte Technology Consulting acquired Salesforce.com partner Quattro and SAP specialists NXG Business Solutions. Deloitte Digital also acquired 20-person firm Digicon that year.
In June, Deloitte Private launched its own cloud accounting platform Deloitte Private Connect.
Deloitte Australia's CEO Giam Swiegers will step down after 12 years, with Cindy Hook taking over from 1 February 2015.
