Rob Makin will step into the role of channel strategy and acquisition manager while David Connellan has been promoted to the role of channel sales director for Australia and New Zealand.
"The appointments bring us a step closer to launching Dell's channel program in Australia and we are pleased to say they were made from within our local team," said Joe Kremer, vice president of Dell Australia.
As the first A/NZ channel strategy and acquisition manager, Makin has the daunting task of preparing Dell’s local channel strategy for the region.
“Makin’s primary concern will be the implementation and direction of Dell’s Channel strategy as well as the identification of Dell’s major prospective channel partners,” explained Kremer.
Makin joined the vendor in June 2006 as the account executive and alliance manager for the Commonwealth Bank and EDS. Prior to Dell, he held senior sales and alliance positions, with global remit, for companies including Vodafone Group and Compaq.
Now in his 13th year with the company, Connellan is intimately acquainted with the company and the local IT landscape.
He has previously held various roles in the company including NSW regional sales manager, operations manager and account executive.
