Distribution Central announced today that it will distribute SanDisk flash products through its growing data centre division.
SanDisk will sit in the Fusion Systems portfolio in Australia, which accounts for 40 percent of the distie’s turnover and was earmarked earlier this year for further expansion.
DC has also recently added Fujitsu Eternus to the Fusion Systems portfolio, as well as SimpliVity and before that EVault, a spokesperson told CRN.
DC will distribute SanDisk data centre acceleration solutions in Australia and New Zealand, including Fusion ioMemory solutions, SanDisk ION Accelerator all-flash appliance, Fusion ioVDI and Fusion ioTurbine software.
The deal follows DC’s decision to rebrand its data centre unit to reflect its expanded focus on more than storage. NetApp has traditionally dominated this side of the DC business, but in August managing director Nick Verykios told CRN to expect several vendors to be added to the roster, with flash, virtualisation, power and cooling possible areas of focus.
While SanDisk will sit in the Fusion Systems portfolio in Australia, the products will be part of an overall portfolio in New Zealand, rather than a specific business unit.
