Datacom scores smart council cloud deployment in SA council

Datacom has secured another contract for its smart council and community cloud solution Datascape, with Wattle Range Council adopting the cloud-based system.

The council, which covers South Australia’s Limestone Coast region southeast of Adelaide, is the sixth local government unit to adopt the platform. The deal was signed earlier this week.

“Wattle Range Council is extremely excited to have partnered with Datacom for the provision of its new enterprise software management system,” council chief executive Ben Gower said.

Datascape is a SaaS ERP system designed specifically for the day-to-day operations of local governments. Some features include a CRM, applications to manage financials, properties, ratings, regulatory activities, HR and payroll activities and more.

The council also gets the Antenno communications mobile app, allowing it to send alerts and notifications to residents, receive feedback and allow for participation in decision-making. The app will be available to all Wattle Range residents early next year.

“One of Datascape’s standout features is being designed around the customer with modern interfaces that enable our community to interact with the Council on any matter, from any device, and from anywhere they can get an internet connection,” Gower said.

“Additionally, enhanced data analytics will also enable Council to monitor and measure a range of key performance indicators to enhance decision making and foster a culture of continuous improvement.”

Gower added that council staff will be freed up to spend more time focusing on customer needs instead of doing time-consuming paperwork and red tape.

Datacom first deployed Datascape in the Shire of Manjimup in Western Australia, followed by the councils of Toodyay in WA, Lane Cove in northern Sydney and the Porirua and Clutha councils in New Zealand.
