Data#3 wins $32 million Azure deal with NSW Health

Data#3 has won a $32 million contract from NSW Health to provision Microsoft Azure products and services.

A NSW Health spokesperson said the contract was part of an initiative from its internal information and communication technology agency eHealth NSW.

eHealth NSW is partnering with industry to support electronic management of health information, the spokesperson told CRN.

The department did not specify the Azure products used, but tender documents reveal the contract runs from 1 June 2019 to 31 May 2020.

Data#3 declined to comment further on the contract win.

Data#3 has had a long history of lucrative Azure deals in government, often becoming an exclusive supplier in some instances. In 2018, the company scored $121 million in government contracts for that year alone, the most for any service provider that year.

In May, the company became the exclusive provider of Microsoft software for the Western Australian government for three years.

Prior to that, Data#3 had been the federal government's sole provider of Microsoft licensing solutions as part of the Digital Transformation Agency's software solutions and licensing panel. The DTA has since expanded the panel to include other suppliers, adding 99 more in March this year.
